Peter Jakubowski
Lighting Designer
Peter Jakubowski is an award winning lighting designer and current resident designer for the Nevada Ballet. He holds a BA in theater from the State University of New Your at Buffalo and an MFA in Design from Temple University with an additional concentration in Design for Dance.
He is both a union lighting and scenic designer IATSE USA 829. His work has been awarded the ARTIE award for best lighting design and he has been nominated five times for the F. Otto Haas Award. He has been recognized by both the Philadelphia Citypaper and the Philadelphia Inquirer for "Excellence in Design".
Peter's designs have been seen in over 30 states as well as abroad. He was honored to be the Lighting Designer in the Camden Cultural Heritage Museum display of Theater Design as Art.
Theaters he has designed for include North Shore Music Theater, Massachusetts, The Prince Music Theater and the Walnut Street Theater in Philadelphia, The Lenape Reginald Performing Arts Center in New Jersey and the Maine State Music Theater.
Peter serves as Resident Designer and Production Manager for Jeanne Ruddy Dance, the Koresh Dance Company and the Snowy Range Dance Festival. He has work in the repertoire of the Peter Pucci Plus Dancers, Alban Elved Dance Company and the Colorado Ballet to name a few. Previously, Peter was an Associate Professor Production/Design specialist for the Department of Dance at University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
